Fluminense's Road to the Semifinals in Libertadores

1 abril 2:1 Fluminense's Road to the Semifinals in Libertadores

As the current champion of the Libertadores, Fluminense has already reached the semifinals of the tournament twice. On both occasions, they advanced to the final, finishing as runners-up in one and claiming the title in the other. Among all the participants in the 2024 competition, only seven teams have never advanced to the semifinals.

These teams are Caracas (VEN), Talleres (ARG), Deportivo Tachira (VEN), The Strongest (BOL), Cobresal (CHI), Huachipato (CHI), and Liverpool (URU). None of them are in the same group as Fluminense, but any of them could potentially be Fluminense’s opponent in the knockout stage if they qualify for the round of 16.

Last year, Fluminense faced The Strongest (BOL) in their group, and they have also had recent matches against Caracas (VEN) and Huachipato (CHI) in the Libertadores. Fluminense has also crossed paths with Liverpool (URU), but in the Copa Sudamericana.
