With the South American Recopa title and elimination in the semifinals of the Campeonato Carioca, Fluminense ended the first third of the season with a sharp drop in their goal average compared to last year.
In 2023, they scored 115 goals in 72 matches, averaging 1.6 per game. In 2024, so far, they have scored only 19 goals in 15 matches, averaging 1.2 per game.
Fluminense will return to the field on April 3rd, making their debut in the Copa Libertadores. They still have the Brazilian Championship and the Copa do Brasil to compete for more titles this season.
