The board traveled to Europe to discuss several matters, including the potential signing of Luiz Henrique, a young talent developed by Fluminense. However, after a meeting with the Spanish club, the deal did not progress, as reported by international transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
According to Romano, Betis has no intention of letting Luiz Henrique go and join Flamengo under the current conditions. The asking prices from the Spanish club are still too high for the Brazilian club to afford.
Recently, Fluminense’s football directorate also attempted to bring back Luiz Henrique but gave up after their proposals were rejected. The 23-year-old forward, who came through the academy, played 120 matches, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists for the Tricolor between 2020 and 2022. He won the Rio de Janeiro State Championship in 2022.
