Following the 0-0 draw between Fluminense and Vasco on Wednesday at the Maracanã stadium, the rival team strongly criticized the refereeing, even releasing an official statement. On Thursday, the Rio de Janeiro Football Federation (Ferj) responded.
In an official statement on their social media channels, Ferj expressed their willingness to meet with both clubs to discuss the refereeing situations. Here is the statement:
«In the spirit of transparency, consistency, and impartiality, the Refereeing Department of Rio de Janeiro Football (DEAF-RJ) maintains its stance and will be available from 3pm to 6pm this Thursday to meet with representatives from Vasco and Fluminense at the headquarters of the Rio de Janeiro Football Federation. The purpose of this meeting is to receive the clubs’ viewpoints regarding their interpretations of the refereeing decisions and to provide precise conclusions, based on the rules, regarding any controversial or possibly mistaken incidents during the classic match yesterday.»
