The FERJ (Football Federation of Rio de Janeiro State) has made the decision to introduce the use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in all matches involving the four major clubs in Rio de Janeiro in the Campeonato Carioca Betnacional. This information was revealed by journalist Bruno Murito, who covers Vasco da Gama for the Globo Esporte portal. According to him, this technological tool for refereeing will be available starting from the 6th round of the Taça Guanabara.
It is worth noting that this decision was made in response to the refereeing of the recent match involving Vasco’s rival, Bangu, which ended in a 2-2 draw with controversial plays for both sides.
